A Cretan night is not a folklore show with a buffet. It is a village taverna, a long table, dishes that keep arriving, a lyra player who does not need a microphone, and raki that appears whether or not you asked.

By the third hour someone will pull you into the pentozali. Resistance is polite but futile.

Yes - tell us when booking and the kitchen prepares a full vegetarian spread.

Do we have to dance?

No, but you will want to by the end.

Very. Cretan tavernas are family places and children are treated like guests of honour.

Can we drive ourselves?

You could, but the wine and raki are included for a reason. Take the transfer.
