Most rental companies in Crete insist on a credit card in the main driver's name, purely so they can block a deposit on it. If you travel with a debit card, or with a card that has no credit limit to freeze, that single rule can rule out half the fleet at the airport.
We do not take a deposit, so we do not need a credit card. You settle the agreed price and drive.
A valid driving licence held for at least one year - an EU licence is enough on its own, and non-EU licences need an International Driving Permit alongside them. Bring your passport or ID for the paperwork, and tell us in advance if anyone else will drive, so the additional driver is registered on the contract for a small fee. That is the whole list.
Airport desks are where holidays get expensive: a queue, a card block, and a hard sell on excess waiver insurance while your family waits with the luggage. Because our price already includes FCDW full insurance with WUG cover at €0 excess and we hold no deposit, the handover is a five-minute conversation with a person who lives here.
