The old town's lanes are narrow and one-way in places; park at the edge and walk. The beach road fills up in the middle of the day, so arrive before 11:00 or after 16:00 if you want a shaded spot. Heading east, the national road towards Agios Nikolaos climbs and curves along the coast - a beautiful drive that deserves the speed limit rather than the temptation. Watch for scooters at night around the strip.
