What determines the price of a rental car in Crete
Season - July and August cost the most; May, June, September and October cost noticeably less.
Rental duration - the daily rate falls the longer you keep the car, and rentals of seven days or more get the best rate.
Car category - a city car, a family car and a seven-seater are three different price levels.
Transmission - automatics are scarcer on the island and priced accordingly.
