Most rental cars in Greece are manual, and automatics are the first category to sell out - usually months before the summer. If you only drive an automatic at home, Crete is not the place to relearn a clutch: the island is built on hairpins, steep village lanes and hill starts with a queue behind you.
We keep automatics in the fleet across several classes and book them on a first-come basis. No deposit, full insurance included, delivered to your hotel or the airport.
Automatics are the scarcest cars on the island in July and August, and the supply does not grow to meet demand. If your dates are in high season, ask as soon as you have flights: we will tell you straight away whether we have one for your dates rather than confirming and reshuffling you into a manual later.

There is no upsell at handover, because there is no better package to sell you. We send the fuel policy, driver age rule and the full terms in writing before you confirm anything. An EU driving licence is enough. Insurance is void off-road, including the gravel track to Balos.
